Skiing in all its disciplines, alpine, mountain, snowboarding... is the king of winter sports and the favourite activity of the tourists who visit us every year. Grandvalira, Vallnord and Naturlandia concentrate the range of snow activities on offer.

Andorra also breathes culture! You'll find more than 20 museums and Romanesque art, which is easily recognisable in some monuments or in its numerous churches and hermitages. The small mountain villages are also an attraction in themselves to discover the most representative architecture of the country.

GRANDVALIRA

The Hotel Font d'Argent Canillo is an ideal place to enjoy skiing in Andorra. In all its forms, alpine, mountain, snowboard... it is the king of winter sports and the favourite activity of the tourists who visit us every year. Especially for those skiers who prefer to stay close to the slopes and night activities.

From the hotel, you can walk to the Canillo cable car with direct access to Grandvalira, from where you can move around the rest of the resort's sectors.

Snow activities are also the order of the day in winter, from mushing (dog sledding) to snowshoeing, snowmobiling and many more. You can enjoy them in Grandvalira, in different sectors such as Grau Roig or Soldeu and also at the foot of the Canillo cable car, in the Family Park - Mon (t) Magic. Vallnord and Naturlandia also have a wide range of proposals to have a great time in the snow even if you don't ski.

Splash
WATER SLIDE

The new attraction for 2024 is called Splash!

A water attraction that you can enjoy at the Palau de Gel, in the village of Canillo. It consists of 3 fun slides that will take you down from a height of 7 metres to the indoor pool of the sports complex. In total, a 53-metre route that runs along the outside of the building and back into it at the end of the journey.

Skating and activities
ON ICE

Just a few metres from the hotel, you will find the only Olympic ice rink in Andorra, ideal for an afternoon of après-ski or to enjoy a refreshing activity during the hot summer afternoons.

During the day you can skate and there are even ice karting races for both adults and children.
At the Palau de Gel you will also find a 25-metre heated swimming pool and a children's pool, both open to the public.

Thermal spa in
CALDEA

Andorra is a country with thermal waters and the Romans already knew this. The name Escaldes refers precisely to that. The Caldea-Inúu thermoludic centre is famous for being the largest thermal spa of its kind in southern Europe.

Roc del Quer and
TIBETAN BRIDGE

You can't come to Andorra and miss the new attraction of the summer!

The Tibetan Bridge is very close to the hotel, in Canillo, and if you don't want to take the car, there is a bus that takes you from the village. You can also combine it with the famous Roc del Quer viewpoint a little further up... The Tibetan Bridge in Canillo is the second longest Tibetan bridge in the world and it was inaugurated in June 2022. It has a length of 603 metres and is suspended 158 dizzying metres above the ground. It crosses the River Valley, giving us breathtaking landscapes.

The Roc del Quer viewpoint is a 20-metre footbridge that ends with the sculpture of a thinker. 12 of the 20 metres are suspended in the air with part of the ground with transparent glass. From here you will have one of the best views over the Valira d'Orient valley and the surrounding peaks, and just behind, you will see the peak of Casamanya (one of the most emblematic peaks in the country). If you come to Canillo, you can't miss these views!

And if you like panoramic viewpoints, be sure to visit the Tristaina viewpoint, on the peaks of the Ordino-Arcalís ski resort. To get there from Canillo, take the same road that leads to the Tibetan Bridge and Roc del Quer, and cross the valley in the direction of Ordino. Once there, continue towards Arcalís. When you reach the foot of the resort, park in the parking area and take the cable car that will take you halfway up. Then take the chairlift that will take you to the top. From the chairlift, it will only take you 10 minutes on foot to reach the Mirador and enjoy breathtaking natural views.

Cycling and
MOUNTAIN BIKE

Another well-known activity for which Andorra is famous is cycling. The Principality has been the end of mythical stages of major competitions such as the Tour of Spain and the Tour de France, the last of which took place in July 2021. Not forgetting other major sporting events such as the mountain bike world championships in the Vallnord-Bike Park or other renowned cycling rallies such as "La Purito". It also stands out for being a bike-friendly destination, ideal for touring its roads and mountain passes on a road bike or its mountain trails on a mountain bike or e-bike.

We suggest you discover a circuit that starts on the Montaup road in Canillo and climbs up to the Coll de Ordino. It is one of the 20 cycle routes in Andorra and is very popular with cyclists. With a distance of almost 9 km, it has a positive difference in altitude of 457 metres and is classified as moderate level. It will also allow you to enjoy some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country.

Adventure and nature
IN SUMMER

In summer, entertainment continues in the adventure parks of the ski resorts, which become a natural paradise for the whole family to enjoy.

Very close to the hotel, in Grandvalira, you will find the Family Park - Mon(t) Magic de Canillo, which you can reach by the same cable car that takes you to the slopes in winter. It is the ideal place to spend a day with the family as it has activities adapted to all ages from 3 years upwards. It has a children's area, inflatables and mini-golf. For older children and adults, you will be delighted to know that you will find the second longest zip-line in the Pyrenees, with a 550-metre route that flies over a lake. As well as a nature slide with a 180 m. ascent and 555 m. descent. In addition, at the Family Park - Mon(t) Magic in Canillo, you can also immerse yourself in an interactive guided nature circuit or live the experience of a scape room in the middle of the mountains. Activities such as trampolines, a Bigairbag, Acrojump and water activities in the Forn lake complete the offer.

Calendar and opening times (subject to possible changes by Grandvalira):

For the summer of 2023, the park will be open every day from 23 June to 11 September. During the month of August, the opening hours will be from 10am to 7pm, while in June, July and September the opening hours will be from 10am to 6pm.

Excursions for everyone and
TREKKING

Discover hidden lakes, hike the crests of the highest peaks, stroll through the most beautiful landscapes while discovering the fauna and flora of Andorra. In summer the mountains are the real stars of the show!
The town of Canillo is located at an altitude of 1,500 metres and is the starting point for a multitude of hiking routes of different levels.

Special mention should be made of the Camí del Gall, an easy and very fun route to do with the youngest members of the family. It starts behind the Canillo cable car and ends in the village of Soldeu. It is an easy route that passes through the natural habitat of the uruguayo, a species native to the Pyrenees. Other proposals suitable for the whole family and starting very close to the hotel are: the "Toll Bullidor" route, the "path from Prats to Meritxell" or reaching the "Querol lake".

The most experienced hikers can test themselves on the circular route of 32.7km and 1,560m of elevation gain that runs through the most emblematic high mountain landscapes of the parish of Canillo. You can enjoy the views of the peaks of Casamanya, Estanyó, Alt Juglà and Escobes while you go through the valleys of Incles, Montaup and Coma de Ransol.

Via Ferratas and
CLIMBING

Our good location allows you to enjoy mountain activities, such as via ferrata and climbing, just a few minutes by car from the hotel and without leaving Canillo. Did you know that Canillo is the area of Andorra with the highest concentration of via ferratas?

You can find options for all levels, such as the "Canal de la Mora" ferrata, with free access, located on the road to Montaup. It has two routes, a length of 400 metres and a gradient of 200 metres, and is considered easy.
At the entrance to Canillo is the via ferrata of "Roc del Quer", 500 metres long and more difficult. And if you want more, you'll be pleased to know that Canillo has 4 more routes with which you can put yourself to the test.
